Car Shopping

To Auckland--to test drive cars. First, our walk to
the Waiheke bus stop. It might not be the one closest to
the house, but it is downhill.

I love this shot--it's just like the Beatles Abbey
Road album cover! Except without the cars, and
the crosswalk lines, and, well, the Beatles.

The ferry to Auckland, docked at Waiheke.

We did not photograph the test drives. They went
well, but we did not want to bother the owners with
photos. The first car is on auction, we'll be bidding
on Tuesday night (We lost!). The second car is available 'buy
now' and we'll have that checked by AA if we do
not get the first car.

I am glad that I learned to drive on the wrong
side on the island--less traffic, more laid back.

I encountered many roundabouts, etc., during
the long drive. Parnell is a good place to
to test drive--many hills.

I had to cancel two drives--the ferry area auto
rental shops close at 5 p.m. and there is no night
drop. We'd have to pay a dear price to park
the car overnight in a garage and then come
back by ferry to turn it in. If we have to do
more shopping, we'll have to work something
out.

Hard work done, we settled in for a treat before
walking from Parnell to the ferry dock. We took
bus to Parnell--it's all uphill--but we walked back.

First, hot chocolate.

That is some presentation!

The brownie wedge.

Ah, the lemon crumb.

Good to the last drop.
Home by ferry and bus.

  1. Dont worry about Palin, shes not out of the political work yet. She wont say what she has up her sleeve...2012 President? Hmmm

Your venture to find a car seems to be taking a toll, but have faith, you will find out and it will all be okay.

No rain here, please send us some cool weather!
